LUSAIL ICONIC STADIUM
Lusail Iconic Stadium is set to host both the opening game and the final of the 2022 World Cup. Lusail will be home to a wide range of facilities including marinas, island resorts, luxury shopping and leisure facilities, and much more. Lusail Iconic Stadium will be served by a direct metro link from the capital, making this an easy stadium to get to.
No announcement has been made yet as to when the opening will happen, but would be around early 2022.
AHMED BIN ALI STADIUM, AL RAYYAN
This FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadium reflects Qatari culture with unique patterns that represent the history of Qatar's trade and varied wildlife. Able to seat 40,000 people, the sand dune shaped stadium in Doha will host up to 7 matches up tp the round of 16 stage.
AL BAYT STADIUM, AL KHOR
Able to seat 60,000 people, this FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadium is inspired bu the traditional Arab tents known as the 'bayt al sha'ar'. This satudium will host the opening match on the 21st of November and will host fixtures through the semi-finals.
AL JANOUB SATDIUM, AL WAKRAH
Designed by the late Zaha Hadid, this FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadium is inspired by the sails of traditional dhow boast that reflects the area's seafaring past. The stadium will host 7 matches during the global sporting event up to stage 16.
AL THUMAMA STADIUM
Designed by Qatari architect, Ibrahim M. Jaidah, this FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadium is inspired by the gahfiya, a men's woven cap across the Arab world for centuries. This stadium in Doha will host 8 matches and will seat around 40,000 people. The stadium will turn into a boutique hotel after the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
EDUCATION CITY STADIUM
Called Qatar's Diamond in the Desert, this FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadium is inaugurated in June 2022 paying tribute to the COVID 19 pandemic essential workers. This stadium draws itself on Islamic architecture with diamond geometrical patterns. This stadium will host 8 matches to the quarter finals stage.
KHALIFA INTERNATIONAL STADIUM
Khalifa International Stadium was built in 1976 and has hosted the Asian Games, the Arabian Gulf Cup and the AFC Asian Cup. The 40,000-seat stadium will also be home to the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, which is set to open on March 31, host eight matches in 2022, including the third-place play-off.
STADIUM 974, RAS ABU ABOUD
Stadium 974 has been built out of 974 shipping containers, It is the first fully demountable tournament venue in World Cup history, and the area will be turned into a waterfront area.
