Guys, get excited for this!  The 8 stadiums for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar are set to be divided across the nation, with all less than an hour from the capital of Doha.

 

 

 

 

EDUCATIONAL CITY STADIUM

 

Education City Stadium is a 40,000-seater arena that's set to host matches up to the quarter-final stage of the 2022 Qatar World Cup. It has been designed in the form of a jagged diamond that will glitter by day and, quite literally, glow by night. The whole area is filled with green spaces, a golf course, and even a state-of-the-art shopping mall.

KHALIFA INTERNATIONAL STADIUM

 

The only Qatar football World Cup stadium not being built from scratch, Khalifa International is the most iconic arena in the nation of Qatar and has actually been around since 1976.

AL THUMAMA STADIUM

 

The cool and interesting design of this arena is inspired by the gahfiya, the traditional woven cap worn by Arab males. The stadium will be reachable by a purpose-built metro line from Doha.

Lusail Iconic Stadium is set to host both the opening game and the final of the 2022 World Cup. Lusail will be home to a wide range of facilities including marinas, island resorts, luxury shopping and leisure facilities, and much more.  Lusail Iconic Stadium will be served by a direct metro link from the capital, making this an easy stadium to get to.

AL BAYT STADIUM

 

The 60,000-seater stadium will be set within a wider complex featuring various amenities such as a shopping mall, hospital and more. At 60 km from Doha, this stadium is one of the most difficult to reach for fans, with taxis and buses being the best options to travel here.

AL RAYYAN STADIUM

 

This stadium will host matches up to the quarter-finals stage of the Qatar World Cup. Al-Rayyan sits on the edge of the desert and is a few kilometres from Doha, fans will be able to reach this stadium on a purpose-built metro line.

RAS ABU ABOUD STADIUM

 

The 40,000-seater Ras Abu Aboud Stadium is sustainably made from shipping containers and other repurposed materials, the stadium will be dismantled after the 2022 World Cup, with the parts being used in other building projects across the nation.

AL JANOUB STADIUM

 

Al-Janoub stadium has a capacity of around 40,000 and was designed by the late, globally renowned architect Dame Zaha Hadid inspired by the hulls of pearl fishing boats from the Arabian Peninsula.
